In order to complete the projects in this class, you will need a personal computer loaded with page layout software. The industry standard software is Adobe InDesign, but Adobe Illustrator, or alternative page
 layout software such as Quark or Scribus are also acceptable. These programs are available as 1 month free trials if you are not ready to make an investment. Scribus is free, but more limited.

Word processing software such as Microsoft Word, or raster-based image-making software such as Photoshop, are not appropriate for setting type.

This course assumes a basic working knowledge of page layout software. If you need to brush up on your skills consider an online software course.
