In any laboratory environment, including those focused on cosmetic science, certain essential skills are fundamental for both success and safety. Key among these skills is a thorough understanding and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.

During audits, non-compliance can have serious implications for both individuals and the laboratory as a whole.

These practices keep the laboratory organized and are required under good laboratory practices (GLP) and manufacturing practices (GMP). A well-maintained lab notebook is crucial for tracking project progress, ensuring formulation consistency, and providing a legal record of work (Oba, 2016).
