The point of this activity was to help you see how setting focal goals, objectively monitoring behavior, and creating implementation intentions can all work together to keep us on track to reach our goals. Now that you’ve completed this task, focusing on helping an imaginary friend improve their life, consider doing the same thing for a goal that you have. Remember: make your focal goal as specific as possible, find objective ways to measure your progress toward the goal, and determine specific criteria you will use to decide if you’re not making good progress toward your goal, along with the specific steps you will take to get yourself back on track.
